Mayhem! at The Clay Studio

All throughout May it will be “Mayhem!” at The Clay Studio. There will be something for everyone as special events, new Painting Academy sessions and new launches make The Clay Studio a fun and exciting place to be. 

All through May we will be running Coffee & Coaster mornings. For just £5 visitors can paint a coaster while enjoying a cup of our highly-praised coffee. Plenty of help is available if required. Relax in the comfortable surroundings of The Clay Studio and discover the artist in you! 

Our first Family Fun Day will be on Saturday 19 May. Families will be able to paint for a total Studio Fee of just £10 (plus choice of pottery items) with a chance to win a full year’s membership of Clay Friends, our new membership scheme. Alongside this there will be free chocolate fountain visits and free face painting for children.  

For beginners to painting pottery we will be running a “Have-a-Go” session to paint a “Day at the Seaside” plate. This looks impressive when complete but anyone attending the afternoon course will find just how easy it is and that it requires no artistic skills at all.  

New Painting Academy modules start during May on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings. For children, Kidz Painting Academy sessions continue to run Sunday mornings and afternoons and there will be special “Pant a plate for Father’s Day” sessions during half term.  

The Clay Friends membership scheme starts on 1 May 2007. Annual membership for individuals or families offers great savings for regular visitors as well as special members-only offers and events. Furthermore, members have free tea and coffee while painting. 

We have also just relaunched our menu for The Clay Studio Café. This continues to offer high quality food and beverages, sourced wherever possible from local suppliers. We recently added New Forest Smoothies and we also have a range of quiches made on the edge of the New Forest. Our breakfast menu offers interesting and different options for those who enjoy eating out for breakfast. Our food menu is available every hour that The Clay Studio is open. This includes late nights (until 10pm) Tuesday and Thursday.

The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting studio, offering visitors the opportunity to paint their own pottery and learn different painting and decorative effects through the Painting Academy and by having trained staff always on-hand. Alongside the painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers snacks and beverages, sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and Hampshire producers.
