The Clay Studio
announces more Painting Academy dates
19 February 2007
Following the success
of the first series of Painting Academy workshops, The Clay Studio is
pleased to announce a further set of dates for March to May 2007.
Module 1
"Introduction to Pottery Painting" will run during both evenings and
daytimes so aspiring painters can choose the time that best suits them.
Each session during the six-week course teaches a specific painting
technique with the finished piece available for collection the following
week. The courses start on Thursday 22 March 2007 at 7pm and on
Wednesday 28 March 2007 at 10am, each session lasting for about two hours.
Module 2 “Improvers”
will run on Tuesday evenings from 13 March 2007 at 7pm. This will teach
more advanced techniques and will be ideal for anyone who has completed
module 1 or has some pottery painting experience.
Painting Academy
workshops teach a wide range of pottery painting techniques so that
anyone can produce high quality painted pottery. No previous experience
is necessary for Module 1 although a level of familiarity is recommended
for Module 2. Each session lasts around two hours with the piece glazed
and fired at The Clay Studio for collection the following week.
Places on Painting
Academy courses are limited so advance booking is recommended. Each
course costs £45 with a choice of unpainted pottery (bisque) pieces each
week available at 25% discount on the usual price.
The Clay Studio is a
contemporary pottery painting studio, offering visitors the opportunity
to paint their own pottery and learn different painting and decorative
effects through the Painting Academy and by having trained staff always
on-hand. Alongside the painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers
snacks and beverages, sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and
Hampshire producers.
