The Painting Academy launches autumn programme
13 August 2007
Learning to paint pottery provides you with skills that
you can use to astound your friends and family. What’s more, it’s great
fun and makes an ideal evening out. The Painting Academy at The Clay
Studio in Christchurch has now published its autumn 2007 programme of
painting modules. These modules teach a wide range of simple but
effective pottery painting skills and are great fun to undertake.
Each module is a series of six two-hour workshops. Many
of these are run evenings and during the day. Each workshop will teach a
different pottery painting skill or several skills. The following week
you can collect your piece of pottery glazed and fired.
The autumn courses are themed. Choose one module or feel
free to come along to more than one. At this time of year, this is an
excellent way to create unique Christmas presents. From late November we
will be running a six-week Christmas pottery workshop and a one-day
workshop to create a large Santa platter.
Each six-week module costs just £45. You choose your
piece of unpainted pottery or bisque each week and there is a 25%
discount for selecting the Studio’s recommended piece for the week. In
addition, members of Clay Friends are eligible for 10% discount on any
module fee.
The Clay Studio is all about having fun but at the same
time learning useful skills. Painting pottery helps everyone to express
their creativity while having a fun time.
The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting
studio, offering visitors the opportunity to paint their own pottery and
learn different painting and decorative effects through the Painting
Academy and by having trained staff always on-hand. Alongside the
painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers snacks and beverages,
sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and Hampshire producers.
