Helping Children Understand Healthy Eating
12 May 2007
The Clay Studio is marking Christchurch Food Festival
with a healthy eating promotion for children. From today until the end
of half term week, children will be encouraged to paint a plate to
represent their understanding of healthy eating.
For just £8 the children will have a plate and tuition in
simple painting skills to enable them to create a unique plate that they
can use every day while astounding friends and family with their
creativity.
The winners in the under 10s and 10-16 year old
categories will each receive an annual membership of our new Clay
Friends scheme that offers generous savings on painting and much more.
Runners-up will receive painting vouchers.
Mary Payne of The Clay Studio said:
“We believe it is important for children to learn about
healthy eating from a young age so they grow up making the right choices
for their future. With Christchurch Food Festival there is a focus on
quality food and so we are running this now to encourage children to
take more interest in what they are eating.”
The Clay Studio Café ensures that children (and adults)
are able to make healthy eating choices. A range of high quality and
locally-sourced food and drinks provides a wide choice of tasty and
healthy lunches and snacks.
The Clay Studio is all about having fun but at the same
time learning useful skills. Painting pottery helps children to express
their creativity while having a fun time.
The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting
studio, offering visitors the opportunity to paint their own pottery and
learn different painting and decorative effects through the Painting
Academy and by having trained staff always on-hand. Alongside the
painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers snacks and beverages,
sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and Hampshire producers.
