Half-term Painting Workshops for Children
11 May 2007
With half-term approaching fast, thoughts turn to how to
keep the children amused. Following the success of its previous school
holiday Kidz Painting Academy workshops, The Clay Studio is offering two
further sessions for children.
Running at 10am on 30 May and 1 June 2007, the 1½ hour
session will guide the children through creating a personal plate or mug
for Father’s Day on 17 June. This will teach the children several
different pottery painting techniques so that their creation is personal
and something special for dad to cherish.
For just £12 the sessions include a choice of plate or
mug with pottery “addition” to represent the father’s interests, full
tuition, drink and biscuit and a Painting Academy certificate on
completing the course.
The Kidz Painting Academy allows children to build up a
repertoire of pottery painting skills and enjoy themselves doing it.
With a personal masterpiece to collect a few days later, they have a
unique piece to surprise dad. Booking is required for these sessions in
advance. The previous half-term sessions filled up very quickly.
Kids Painting Academy workshops also run every Sunday
morning and afternoon, offering the chance to learn a different
technique every week. Children are offered a choice of suitable pieces
to paint so that the technique is shown off at its best. Advance booking
is required for these workshops as well as the half-term sessions.
The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting
studio, offering visitors the opportunity to paint their own pottery and
learn different painting and decorative effects through the Painting
Academy and by having trained staff always on-hand. Alongside the
painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers snacks and beverages,
sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and Hampshire producers.
