Spooky, Scary Things at The Clay
Studio
1 October 2008
With Halloween fast approaching The Clay Studio in
Christchurch transforms from a relaxing, inspirational studio to a
darker place where witches, ghosts and spirits feel at ease.
With the Halloween festival becoming increasingly
popular, The Clay Studio is proud to launch a range of activities for
all the family that will be running during October.
Our Painting Academy courses continue but with a
Halloween theme. There are two opportunities to paint a special
Halloween plate that is ideal for serving hot pasties or just for
decoration. This course runs on 11 and 15 October. A brand new project
is a light-up Halloween pumpkin lantern. This is designed for the family
to paint together as a shared experience. The family painting workshop
takes place on Sunday 26 October.
Our Kidz Painting Academy workshops run during school
holidays as usual. For the October half-term we will have a Claying
Around clay modelling workshop as well as two Halloween-themed workshops
that allow children to paint a ghost mug or Halloween pumpkin plate.
These will be great fun, educational and the children will have
something not only to be proud of but that they can use every day.
Our Halloween programme culminates with the Kidz
Halloween Party on 31 October. This was sold out in 2007 and so we are
advising early booking. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress as
well as apple bobbing, a Witch’s Blood cocktail, Ghoulish Grub alongside
the pottery painting. Tickets are available for children and adults. Our
full range of pottery is available for painting including special
Halloween items. Our food and beverages menu is also available all
evening.
The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting
studio, offering visitors the opportunity to paint their own pottery and
learn different painting and decorative effects through the Painting
Academy and by having trained staff always on-hand. Alongside the
painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers food and beverages,
sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and Hampshire producers.
